Tricky, the famous Bristol rapper-cum-producer-cum-actor, will perform in Belgrade for the first time at the SHARE Confernce.
As a producer and a musician, he is noted for a dark, rich and layered sound and an asthmatic whispering lyrical style that is half-rapped, half-sung. Culturally, Tricky bridges white and black Britain. Tricky was a member of the Wild Bunch, a Bristol-based sound system that eventually metamorphosed into Massive Attack during the early ’90s, before launching a successful solo career. More of a producer than a musician, Tricky recorded albums in collaboration with a number of artists, including Bjork, Yoko Ono, Siouxsie Sioux, Martina Topley-Bird, Alison Goldfrapp, and many others.
He has also acted in various films, appearing in a significant supporting role in the 1997 Luc Besson film “The Fifth Element”.
With his latest album, Mixed Race, Tricky picks up where 2008’s Knowle West Boy (named after his rough birthplace) left off, exploring his diverse background, sonic heritage and frequently unforgiving surroundings with sounds as much as words.
Eight years after his seminal performance at the Exit Festival, Tricky will rock the Belgrade audience for the first time at SHARE by Night.
